Still waiting for the final result, but I wanted to share my experience so far.
A recruiter from Stripe had reached out to me directly before, so I didn't need to talk to HR again for this role — I went straight into the first round phone screen.
A week later I was notified that I'd moved on to the written assessment, with a one-week time limit. I had to submit a presentable result along with the code used for the analysis. There were three questions total — the first two were prediction-type problems, and the last one was open-ended.
The presentation format could be a doc or slides, and the analysis could be done in SQL or Python, no restriction. I ended up submitting a slide deck plus a Python script, covering the whole process from data cleaning to modeling to visualization.
The recommended time was not to exceed 4-6 hours, but I probably ended up spending something like three separate 4-6 hour sessions on it 😅 — none of the questions had a standard answer, so how you built the slides was entirely up to you.
I submitted it over the weekend. On Wednesday, because I'd received another offer, I checked in with HR — they said I'd passed the written assessment and had already shared my profile with the hiring manager.
I personally have five years of relevant work experience.
