Super Micro Computer Software Engineer interview: demanding DSA and graph rounds

After the recruiter stage, I had back-to-back technical interviews for what was presented as an entry-level Software Engineer role. I found them brutally hard. I answered what I could and felt I was solving problems and communicating reasonably well, but I was rejected. The standard seemed extremely high and unforgiving.

DSA came up repeatedly in the later rounds. One included graph algorithms and more ad-hoc problem solving; the next still centered on DSA. Long problem sets and detailed edge-case reasoning made the interviews feel harder than typical coding rounds. When I got stuck, I felt there was little room to recover.

I'd put a lot of effort into the process. I kept wondering what I'd missed because I thought I'd performed solidly in both coding and behavioral discussions. I left discouraged, with the impression that even a strong performance hadn't been enough.

Location: United States. Overall feedback: neutral. Offer status: no offer.
