Supermicro Network Engineer interview experience: opaque asynchronous tasks

Supermicro·Network Engineer·Reported Jun 2026
Hard

My application process was unusual. After I applied, I did online tasks that involved watching videos and answering questions instead of going through a normal back-and-forth interview. At the time, I was not clearly told what that process represented.

A few days after I finished, I received an email saying I had been successful, but it did not explain much about what had happened behind the scenes. There were no live technical rounds, so it felt more like an asynchronous hiring workflow than a conventional evaluation.

I never reached an offer. I left thinking the process was efficient but opaque, especially because I did not know clearly what I had been judged on.

Location: California, MD. Overall feedback: Positive. Offer status: no offer.
