Supermicro Software Engineer interview experience: Amazon-style loop and leadership prompts

After applying, I completed an online assessment and then entered an Amazon-style loop. The day felt like a marathon, with multiple back-to-back rounds and different interviewers. Coding, behavioral questions, and leadership-principles prompts were mixed together. DSA was at the center early on, followed by more engineering-judgment conversations that asked me to connect past work with particular leadership themes.

Even the behavioral part was technical in my experience. I had to explain my approach, trade-offs, edge cases, and complexity reasoning, then move into structured STAR stories about ownership, ambiguity, and delivering results. Communication mattered as much as correctness. The pace was intense, although the difficulty felt fairly average overall.

I eventually did not move forward. The repeated need to switch mentally between rounds was the strongest impression. I understood the questions reasonably well, but the process was strict about how I articulated decisions and impact.

Location: Hyderābād. Overall feedback: Positive. Offer status: no offer.
