Giving back to the forum. After getting hit with a layoff at the end of the year, I interviewed with Temu's North America team early this year. The whole process was 3 rounds of coding + 1 round of behavioral questions with a director/VP + 1 round with HRBP:
Round 1: 496. Next Greater Element I
Round 2 I don't remember clearly, but it was also a fairly standard LeetCode medium. Round 3 gave a list of chars representing playing cards and asked me to find the missing number — note here that 0 can mean either A or 1.
Round 4 was with the interviewer, purely project deep dive plus behavioral questions. Interesting thing: I'd read a previous post on the forum beforehand, so I went in mentally prepared — people's takes on that will vary.
Round 5 was HRBP, a different person from the recruiter who'd been in touch with me before. Mainly asked about my study-abroad and work background, and asked in a lot of detail.
Overall, this was the least technically rigorous process among the companies I've interviewed with. In the first 3 rounds, about 20 minutes went to project deep dive, plus 10-20 minutes for an easy-to-medium LeetCode problem. My sense was they deliberately left less time for coding, so the difficulty and amount of code required weren't that high. There was no design session at all — in round 3 they even gave a hint toward a "possible solution," lol. What struck me the most was how thoroughly they dug into the non-technical side in rounds 4 and 5 — they cross-checked against things I'd said before, and if anything didn't match up they'd push back and ask me about it. As for compensation, it looks like TC leveling out at Senior is 350k+, all cash — why not.
