The coding question was: given a PDF, compute the CDF. Then the case question was about designing an ETA system — what you need to consider.
This was my first interview, and I found this interviewer's style was completely different from the paid mock interviews I'd done before.
When I did mock interviews before, several people advised me not to think out loud while talking — better to take a minute to think first and then give a structured answer. So in this interview I asked for a minute to think, and the interviewer took that as me not knowing the answer, and immediately started giving me hints to lead me along.
This interviewer also liked to interrupt a lot. During coding, she would often say I was wrong before I'd even finished writing a line — you needed to write the whole thing through fluently and correctly from start to finish without any interruption. During the interview I wasn't sure whether these interruptions counted against me, but after I got the rejection letter I figured that they probably did.
Later, for the second round, the interviewer had prepared the wrong material (she thought I was only doing one round), so it got rescheduled. Then we tried to schedule it two more times and couldn't land on a time, and after that they sent the rejection. Two days after I got the rejection, the recruiter reached out again to schedule the second round — and it still hasn't been scheduled, so I'm not sure if the recruiter sent that email by mistake.
I thought Uber hired centrally, but the interviewers this time were all from the same team.
