My main interview experience was a live coding session focused on data manipulation in Python, especially pandas. There wasn’t much guidance, and I couldn’t remember every detail afterward, but I clearly remember that I didn’t produce something the interviewer seemed satisfied with.
What threw me off was not knowing what level of polish or correctness they expected. I kept building and iterating, but my work never quite matched what they were looking for.
The interview ended without an offer. The hardest part wasn’t only the coding. It was the ambiguity around expectations during the session, which made it harder to recover once I realized I was off target.
