Northern Trust Business Analyst aptitude test and four-to-six-week process

The first major step was a virtual aptitude assessment. It mixed quantitative and language sections: time and work, percentages, distance reasoning, vocabulary, and logic. One account described roughly 100+ questions in about an hour, which matched my experience of a long test that required careful time management. I then had a telephonic confirmation and a personal interview with the hiring team…

Northern Trust Financial Analyst interview: relaxed panel and behavioral fit

After I applied, the process felt smooth and laid-back. I spoke with a small panel, and the conversation was comfortable because the interviewers were kind and easy to talk to. Most questions were behavioral, aimed at understanding how I had worked before and handled different situations. They also wanted to hear what I knew about Northern Trust and my previous roles, but the discussion was not h…

Northern Trust Business Analyst interview: one practical virtual round

The process was quick and had one round. A recruiter-style invitation led to a virtual conversation with two interviewers for about half an hour. The discussion was domain-related and tied to the process I would work on, including challenges from my own workflow and whether I could work EMEA shifts. Northern Trust Financial Analyst interview: passed stage, then silence

The process went on long enough that I lost trust in it. After what seemed to be the final stage, including an assessment day where I felt confident, I was told I had passed and was moving forward. I also completed the last interview, then communication stopped. I received no response after the final interview, including after I emailed HR and the interviewers. In another part of the timeline, I…

What are interview experiences?

An interview experience is a candidate's own account of a hiring loop — not a question bank entry. It tells you the shape of the process: how many rounds there were, what each round actually tested, how long the gaps between them ran, and what the recruiter said at the end. That context is the part a question list cannot give you.

How to read them

Weight recent write-ups more heavily — interview loops change, often within a year. Read several for the same company and role rather than one: a single account tells you what one interviewer asked, while five tell you what the bar is. Note the outcome badge too, since a rejection write-up usually explains the gap far more precisely than an offer one.

Every published experience earns 50 XP, and each of the first 3 likes it receives in a day earns you 10 XP more. Likes must come from established accounts; like-for-like swaps and likes from your own second account are not paid. Write it while the details are fresh — the round order, the exact prompts, and how much time you were given are what the next reader needs.
