Scientific Research Software Engineer pressure coding interview experience

My process started with a recruiter call and quickly became structured technical conversations. I was usually asked to walk through my resume and projects, then they dug into what I had actually done. Sometimes the prompts were straightforward about systems; sometimes they were scenarios meant to test how I reasoned. One round combined leadership-style discussion with coding. I had to explain my…

Research Scientist interview at Scientific Research

I started with a recruiter screen after submitting my CV, then moved into a stage involving group leadership. There were two main stages separated by a few weeks, so the overall timeline felt longer even though the steps themselves were not overly complicated. The first was an HR-style check of my fit. The second involved two hiring managers and scenario questions. That was the frustrating part:…

Scientific Research Research Scientist interview: prolonged silence after onsite

The process took much longer than I thought it should. After an initial phone screen and an interview with the hiring manager, I eventually had an onsite stage, but the timeline extended beyond three months. Scientific Research Software Engineer interview: CAPA panel

After applying online, I first spoke with a recruiter about the role and my background. That conversation was focused on fit and helped set expectations for what the hiring team cared about. Soon after, I had a panel-style interview that combined technical and situational discussion. Even when the topics became specific, the tone was conversational. The technical discussion centered on my CAPA-st…

What are interview experiences?

An interview experience is a candidate's own account of a hiring loop — not a question bank entry. It tells you the shape of the process: how many rounds there were, what each round actually tested, how long the gaps between them ran, and what the recruiter said at the end. That context is the part a question list cannot give you.

How to read them

Weight recent write-ups more heavily — interview loops change, often within a year. Read several for the same company and role rather than one: a single account tells you what one interviewer asked, while five tell you what the bar is. Note the outcome badge too, since a rejection write-up usually explains the gap far more precisely than an offer one.
