A TinyURL Question With No Hints

We spent the first half hour going through my resume — work experience and projects. It was the kind of technical background conversation that doesn't have a standard answer: why I got promoted at my current company, what key projects I worked on, how I determined that the database system I was responsible for was stable, what tools I'd written before, that kind of thing. For the last 25 minutes…

Solved the Coding Question, Still Rejected in Under 30 Minutes

Recruiter Call Main topics they asked about: Self-introduction The project I worked on that had the most impact, and my role in it Why I'm interested in Robinhood The top three factors I care about when choosing an offer What I'm looking for in my next role Compensation expectations What other companies I'm interviewing with, and what stage each is at Visa status, tech stack, relocation, etc. Que…

Three Back-to-Back Interviews After the OA

The OA was an hour long with two questions, pretty simple. Three days after that I got an interview invite. Three interviews back to back, three hours total, all with very senior people interviewing. The first interviewer worked on software/systems and had me write a problem, roughly medium difficulty. Org chart → Tree. Top-down, level by level → BFS. "Show the entire layer first" → Queue. The se…

A Two-Part CSV Transaction Fee Coding Problem

The screening interview started with the interviewer giving a very brief self-introduction, and then we went straight into the coding section. Part 1 was: given a CSV string of transactions, parse out each person's fee. Questions I asked the interviewer: What are the specific fee calculation rules for different transaction types and payment providers? For example, do payment transactions with car…

An Assisted VO With BQ and Two Coding Questions

Last week I ran an assisted Amazon virtual onsite (VO) interview for someone else. It was a behavioral round plus two coding questions. First, the behavioral part: How do you handle difficulties at work? When your team runs into difficulties, how do you encourage them and come up with a way to solve the problem? Why did you choose Amazon? Then the coding part. Coding 1: You're given an array of s…

OA With Two Coding Questions and an All-or-Nothing Pass Bar

Just finished the Squarepoint OA, sharing the two coding questions. The first question was about maximizing store revenue. Given n items, each with quantity[i] representing the remaining stock, the price equals the quantity. There are m customers, each buying one item, and the goal is to maximize revenue. I solved it with a max heap — each time popping the largest, selling it, then pushing it bac…

A Brutal Four-Question SQL Round

The recruiter call was pretty standard — they asked why I wanted to apply to Revolut, about my past experience, and then talked about how they're moving their headquarters to the UAE now, so a lot of the roles are on mainland Europe, not many in the UK. It depends on your interview results — they sponsor visas for senior and above, etc. SQL Interview Questions The SQL was actually pretty hard — f…

SQL, Fake Accounts, and an AI Ad-Creation Case Study in the Onsite

I just finished my virtual onsite a little while back. I ran into a few questions that other people have already posted about, but with slightly different follow-ups, so I wanted to share. SQL: active_ads. The interviewer was very organized and gave clear instructions. My second question was to find people whose total spend last year was over 1k, then look at what share of their spend this year t…

Interviewing While Layoff News Broke, LC 215 and LC 236 With Follow-ups

I was in the middle of interviewing when the news broke about a big round of layoffs. Setting AI aside, the questions for the traditional software engineer track seem to be getting harder and harder. I got in through a referral from an alum, so the process into Meta went pretty smoothly. The pace was actually pretty fast — it took about two weeks to get through the first two rounds. The whole int…

What are interview experiences?

An interview experience is a candidate's own account of a hiring loop — not a question bank entry. It tells you the shape of the process: how many rounds there were, what each round actually tested, how long the gaps between them ran, and what the recruiter said at the end. That context is the part a question list cannot give you.

How to read them

Weight recent write-ups more heavily — interview loops change, often within a year. Read several for the same company and role rather than one: a single account tells you what one interviewer asked, while five tell you what the bar is. Note the outcome badge too, since a rejection write-up usually explains the gap far more precisely than an offer one.

Share your own

Every published experience earns 50 XP, and each of the first 3 likes it receives in a day earns you 10 XP more. Likes must come from established accounts; like-for-like swaps and likes from your own second account are not paid. Write it while the details are fresh — the round order, the exact prompts, and how much time you were given are what the next reader needs.
