Overview
This question evaluates a data scientist's behavioral and leadership competencies—ownership, impact measurement, learning from failure, stakeholder management, mentoring, and decision-making—by requiring three concrete examples with dates, metrics, constraints, actions, outcomes, and manager feedback.
Provide three distinct examples from the last 24 months: (1) Your most consequential accomplishment—context, specific goal, constraints, your actions, measurable outcomes (with before/after metrics), and your manager's response or external validation. (2) A non-trivial failure—early signals you missed, the root cause you identified, what you changed afterward, and how your manager reacted. (3) A time you helped others succeed—stakeholders involved, conflict or trade-offs, what you delegated or taught, the measurable impact on team or business metrics, and feedback from your manager. For each story, include dates, numbers, and a decision you would make differently in hindsight.
