Squarepoint Interview Questions
Squarepoint interviews split almost evenly between engineering and research: of 40 recorded questions, 9 came from Software Engineer loops and 8 from Data Scientist ones, so one bank serves two quite different candidates. The quant side shows through immediately. Candidates report being asked to explain derivatives, yield to maturity and core statistics in a single sitting, to work out the correlation between two die-face counts, and to state the assumptions behind linear regression before fitting a line through three points. Coding is 7 of the 40 and stays small and exact: return the elements of an array above its own average, or find the most frequent character under a stated tie-breaker rule. Language questions sit apart from that, covering the Python runtime and how its object model behaves. The round mix is the odd part. No classic onsite appears at all: 9 questions came from a technical screen, 5 from an HR screen and 3 from a take-home, so the recruiter conversation carries real technical weight here. 10 of the 40 come with a written solution. Nothing in this bank is rated easy, 13 at medium and 4 at hard, so the floor is higher than the question sizes suggest.
