I had a 30-minute recruiter phone screen about my background and resume, then a technical video interview with a senior engineer. That technical conversation lasted about an hour, beginning with introductions before a live coding challenge in a shared editor.
After coding, I answered questions on system-design basics and how my projects related to their work. Later, the loop also included a system-design-style component and a cultural-fit conversation. The atmosphere was generally positive and straightforward, although the LeetCode-heavy format felt dated to me as a proxy for real engineering. I did not receive an offer. The loop covered technical execution and behavioral alignment, but not in a way that fully reflected day-to-day engineering.
Location: Japan. Overall feedback: neutral. Offer status: no offer.
