Addepar Software Engineer Interview Experience: Positive feedback followed by silence

My journey went through several rounds before stalling in a way that did not match the conversations. I had an introductory call with a director or hiring manager, LeetCode-style medium coding questions, a system design round, a manager behavioral round, and an additional HR touchpoint. The technical discussions felt fair and generally solid while I was in them.

The problem appeared after the final interview. I was told the feedback was positive, that more time was needed to assess other candidates, and that I would hear back within a week. I waited without hearing anything. A follow-up brought another explanation for the delay, followed by more silence. Even when I was told things were moving forward, there was no clear reason or specific feedback, so the rejection did not feel properly closed out.

The process ran longer than expected, with delays that did not feel transparent. I ended up rejected or left hanging, and the communication did not match the time I had invested.

Location: India. Overall feedback: Negative. Offer status: no offer.
