Adyen Software Engineer interview: unclear final communication

My interviews lasted a while, and the technical work was not the part that stayed with me most. I began with recruiter screening, then went through several rounds with technical discussion followed by leadership or manager-style conversations. At one point I was told I would be brought to the Amsterdam office for a leadership interview. That final round felt inconsistent with what I had shown earlier.

Communication became the main problem later in the process. After the final round, updates stopped. I followed up and got either no response or delayed replies that still did not provide closure. In one case, a recruiter who had been responsive earlier stopped replying after the last interview. In another, I was told I was a cultural and technical fit but that my communication style was not direct enough, and they did not continue.

I did not receive an offer. What stayed with me was the gap between the professional early process and the unclear follow-through once decisions seemed to be made.

Location: Amsterdam. Overall feedback: negative. Offer status: no offer.
