Alten Nederland contacted me on LinkedIn; I hadn't applied. The recruiter described something close to a one-time process, said my profile would remain in their database for future opportunities, and promised a manageable timeline. It turned out to be much longer and more disorganized than that.
After a brief HR screen, I interviewed with a backend technical lead. It went well, and I received a backend assignment due in five days. I completed it and had another discussion with the lead about my implementation and decisions. Up to then, the experience was positive and professional.
Afterward, two HR representatives contacted me without seeming to agree on where I was in the process. The frontend interview focused on React and didn't involve another assignment. I was then told I'd meet Carrefour. An Alten commercial representative joined the preparation call late and kept sending me messages during it. That made it difficult to prepare properly.
The client interview was the most concerning part. It included a backend technical lead, a frontend technical lead, and several other people. I didn't get an offer. My takeaway was that I met the technical requirements and that my first assignment had been appreciated, but the way the process and communication were handled made the whole experience exhausting.
Location: Rabat. Overall feedback: negative. Offer status: no offer.
