This Amazon process felt like a full technical deep dive rather than a quick screen. After applying, I had multiple live rounds combining coding, system design, and detailed behavioral questions about Leadership Principles.

The coding work required more than an optimal LeetCode style solution. I had to explain my thought process, edge cases, time and space complexity, alternative approaches, and trade offs. The design rounds felt like Amazon services: high level design covered APIs, data modeling, database choices, caching, load balancing, scalability, fault tolerance, and consistency. Deeper work focused on object oriented design and maintainability.

The bar raiser was separate and required detailed STAR examples about ownership, customer obsession, failure, bias for action, and learning under pressure. The hardest part was not any single question, but keeping my explanations sharp and structured through detailed follow-ups. I did not pass, but the evaluation felt thorough and clear. I felt it measured how I think and communicate, beyond whether I can solve problems silently.

Location: Bengaluru. Overall feedback: Positive. Offer status: No offer.
