After recruiter outreach, I took an online assessment about a week later. It was more about algorithm practice than the role itself: two coding questions, one theory question, LeetCode-style thinking, and core algorithm concepts. I was also repeatedly prompted to be ready to discuss my projects.
I then had two technical interviews. They covered Java 8 features, the Collections framework, Spring Boot internals, REST API development, SQL, and some system-design scenarios. I had to explain tradeoffs, not only write code.
The last stage was an HR and managerial round about my project roles and ownership, fit, cultural alignment, notice period, and compensation. The process felt moderately challenging and fairly structured. Its communication cadence between stages shaped my view of it as deliberate rather than a quick screen.
