AT&T Account Executive interview: objections, cold calling, and customer recruiting

AT&T·Account Executive·Reported Jun 2026
Medium

The process opened with a straightforward recruiter-style conversation, but the questions quickly turned to how I had handled work situations. One main prompt asked about my best and worst scenarios. I had to explain what happened, how I got there, and what I did to work through the challenge.

I then had a short, structured set of interviews centered on sales fundamentals. We discussed overcoming objections, whether I was comfortable cold calling, and how I would recruit new customers. The manager portion was more direct and kept bringing the conversation back to how I sell and respond to pushback.

It felt as though they were trying to understand both my past experience and how I would operate in the role each day. Their priorities were clear, and the process was organized enough that I stayed confident through the interviews.

Location: Des Moines, IA. Overall feedback: negative. Offer status: no offer.
