I completed a HireVue-style process with an AI-marked video component and an extended-response question. I had to read an email from a manager, then give feedback on the possible risks and benefits of an engineering decision. It was an applied judgment test, not only a chance to talk about myself.
The process also had short video introductions, extra prompts paired with multiple-choice items, and email-writing tasks about an engineering scenario. In those tasks, I needed to identify risks and opportunities and write for a manager-level audience.
What surprised me was how much the written work and interpretation of the scenario mattered compared with purely technical answers. The video and email pieces created time pressure, but the real difficulty was organizing my reasoning rather than finding one correct answer. I did not get an offer, but I came away understanding the kind of thinking they value: clear evaluation rather than technical jargon.
Location: Sydney. Overall feedback: positive. Offer status: no offer.
