Boeing Software Engineer interview: C++17, concurrency, and architecture

I entered the process through an in-person recruiting event where I met the hiring manager. The next step was an online assessment that felt similar to HackerRank. One problem asked me to work with a decimal-to-binary print format. After that, I had an hour-long interview over Zoom.

The Zoom session started with questions about my resume and background. The rest of the hour became a slide-deck discussion with roughly 15 prompts. The questions focused on C++17, including concurrency and architecture, so the interview felt more engineering-heavy than the earlier assessment.

Once the slide portion began, the process was fairly structured and clear about the technical direction. I didn’t get an offer, but I came away feeling that they were evaluating how I thought about C++ concepts rather than whether I could recite generic answers.

Location: El Segundo, CA. Overall feedback: Positive. Offer status: No offer.
