I went through a standard multi-round Solutions Engineer process. It opened with an English-language HR conversation about who I was, whether I knew Datadog, and my salary expectations. Next came an online HackerRank test with prompts on SQL, Linux, containers, APIs, and installing and setting up a Datadog agent.
I then met the hiring manager for behavioral questions with some technical content before moving to very deep technical questions with the Solutions Engineer team. The process was intense enough that I felt I had put everything into it, but I did not make it through the technical stage.
The earlier rounds had structure, yet the final technical interview was where it slipped away. What I remember is the amount of time and focus required compared with the little clarity I received at the end.
