This was the most unusual interview I have had so far. There was not a single LeetCode question in the onsite.
First round
I wrote a shopping cart. There was not much algorithm work, and it felt as though the round was testing how I communicated with the interviewer.
Second round
I was asked basic questions about data structures and complexity, including very basic topics such as lists, hashes, and linked lists. It felt ridiculously easy.
System design
The prompt was to design a shopping search bar, which I had not prepared for. I used a trie and Elasticsearch. I did not know what the interviewer wanted, and it felt as though she had not explained it clearly either. I was a little confused.
Behavioral round
The manager asked about conflict, which was the only traditional behavioral question. I was also asked whether I normally participated in activities for improving myself professionally.
Overall, this company's interview was really casual. I had not prepared much, and it did not feel like there was much I could have prepared. I will leave the result to chance.
