My EPAM process was assessment-heavy. It started with an OA covering aptitude, OS, computer networks, and coding. Next came a pen-and-paper coding test in an auditorium, where I worked on an LRU cache problem. Then there was a group discussion where the evaluator let us choose the topic. After that came technical interviews on DSA, DBMS, OS, CN, and more coding, followed by HR.
It was not one continuous hard-but-fair process. In one technical session, I solved an odd/even ordering problem, then learned that the output had to be in an unstated specific order. I had to redo it and lost time. Another question asked for a custom error, but the expected example had not been mentioned. The technical rounds were also long and detailed.
The process stretched out and scheduling became messy. Rounds that looked managerial became technical live-coding sessions. A later third round was rescheduled several times and then canceled abruptly, and HR stopped responding. Even with good earlier moments, I was not selected. The lack of clarity and follow-through left me burned by the process, not only by the competition.
