GreyOrange Software Engineer interview experience

GreyOrange·Software Engineer·Reported Jul 2026
Take-home ProjectMedium

After the recruiter stage, I completed a take-home assessment that was the hardest part of the loop. It was not one problem. It covered five system-design scenarios, each aimed at a different principle, and I had to create the data models and workflows for them.

This was more than drawing an architecture. I had to explain how the designs would scale and what would happen in failure cases, including how they would hold up when things went wrong.

It was a workload-heavy evaluation, and I did not move forward. The challenge was its breadth: I could solve individual pieces, but had to connect modeling, scaling logic, and reliability thinking across all five scenarios.

Location: California City, CA. Overall feedback: neutral. Offer status: no offer.
