I was contacted through LinkedIn, and someone from the recruiting team arranged a recruiter screen. That interview was fairly normal, covering my work experience along with an overview of the company and role. Afterward, I moved straight to a hiring manager interview that felt very different.
The hiring manager barely introduced themselves, didn't ask much about me, and instead went straight to a single question. After I answered, they wrapped up quickly, even though I still had questions prepared. When I asked what would happen next, they said there were additional steps and that I would hear from the recruiter.
The experience left me feeling that the hiring manager didn't really want to be there and that the interview didn't allow for a fair back-and-forth. The recruiter portion was fine, but the abrupt ending made the process feel like a waste of time for both sides. I didn't receive an offer, and I came away with a negative impression of how that final stage was handled.
Location: New York, NY. Overall feedback: Negative. Offer status: No offer.
