Nuro Software Engineer interview experience

A recruiter first contacted me about availability, then we had an initial screening call about my background and experience. It was a standard conversation for setting context and understanding what I had done. About a week later, I had a technical interview with the hiring manager, and the questions became much more domain-specific.

The interview focused on systems engineering rather than generic coding. I was asked precise questions about sensor fusion, ROS, time synchronization, and systems integration from prior work. They wanted crisp, concrete explanations and followed up closely on my experience.

The process was fast and structured but demanding. It took roughly four weeks end to end, and I stayed in contact with the recruiter throughout. I needed detailed examples from prior projects because vague answers did not pass. It felt like an assessment of robotics and systems depth, not general engineering talk.

Location: Mountain View, CA. Overall feedback: neutral. Offer status: no offer.
