Nuro Software Engineer Interview Experience — Unprepared System Design Plus an Easy Coding Round

HR reached out and I just did the interview casually without much prep. The phone screen was 45 mins system design + 45 mins coding.

1. System Design
   The question was to design a self driving car simulation job scheduler system.
   10K simulation cases every week, each job has multiple phases, and the phases have dependencies on each other.
   Each case have several phases
   Weekly run of 10000 cases
   I hadn't really prepared for this one, so I answered along the lines of a distributed job scheduler and a message queue. I feel like I didn't hit the main point.

2. Coding
   Fairly easy, basically LC 11 (the water container one) with a different story: instead of holding water, you compute the zipline installation between two trees.
   I finished the solution very quickly and there were no follow-ups, we just talked about time and space complexity. The interviewer didn't seem to have anything left to ask, and the interview even ended a bit early...
