My process began with a recruiter interaction that already made me uneasy. The recruiter was late, and the tone felt cold and dismissive. People already in the role had told me the process should be simple and that I would not be expected to know everything. I went through the interview steps anyway and was ultimately rejected without meaningful feedback.
What stayed with me was not only the missing feedback. From what I saw publicly and through networking, the SDR team appeared to lack representation. Coffee chats with several people in the role reinforced that impression. I could not prove discrimination, but the unwelcoming recruiter interaction, the process feeling opaque and disrespectful, and the team seeming very homogeneous made me wonder about unconscious bias and left me seriously concerned about the hiring culture and its transparency. It also made the rejection harder for me to interpret.
