Prime Video Software Engineer interview: debugging and virtual loop

My first technical task was a web-app debugging exercise rather than pure LeetCode. A limited AI assistant could read files and explain them, but it would not give me the answer. I still had to reason through the code and find the bug myself.

The later virtual loop covered data structures, system design, debugging, and behavioral discussion around Amazon Leadership Principles. The technical work was practical and time-constrained, while the behavioral answers needed specific STAR-style examples. I did not receive an offer. What stayed with me was the pressure to remain logical while debugging under constraints, and how hard it was to recover when the leadership-focused evaluation went slightly wrong.

Location: Vancouver, BC. Overall feedback: negative. Offer status: no offer.
