I expected a straightforward mid-level process, but the company suggested a staff-level title. It sounded flattering at first, but also made me uneasy because the numbers did not seem to leave much room later.
Several interviewers had poor connectivity. Their audio dropped constantly, I could not hear the full questions, and no one suggested a phone call or a reschedule. I had to guess what was being asked and answer with incomplete context.
The compensation discussion was another shock. The verbal salary figure was higher than the one in the written offer. When I raised the mismatch, I was told the higher amount would be honored in practice even though the contract showed less. I asked for the agreed figure to be written into the contract. After a long stretch of follow-ups, the offer was withdrawn. That left me with a simple lesson: signed documents matter more than reassurance when timelines and leverage start shifting.
