My first contact was a recruiter call covering the usual basics: my background and resume, why I was interested in Spotify, why the role suited me, current compensation and expectations, work authorization and visa status, and my availability.
The later interviews were noticeably harder than the early stages. I reached a technical round with a hiring panel led by a senior-level engineer, and the difficulty increased quickly. It was challenging enough that I wished I’d prepared better for that specific interview style. The people I spoke with were strong, and my overall impression of the organization was positive.
I didn’t receive an offer. The recruiting logistics were smooth at first, but the technical portion demanded more than I initially expected.
