My process started positively, but the final stage was deeply disappointing and left me uneasy about the evaluation standards. I was asked to complete what was presented as a case-study assignment for an enterprise agent solutions developer role. Although it was part of the interview, the work felt close to a real product and architecture project compressed into a short timeline.
The most frustrating part was the mismatch between what I thought I was being evaluated on and how the panel handled the discussion. I prepared according to the requirements as they were communicated, but during the final interview the panel seemed to expect me to infer additional priorities that hadn't been clearly emphasized. The conversation felt adversarial and overly focused on narrow details, as if they were looking for a reason to reject me rather than assessing the work in good faith.
I also noticed inconsistency in the sequencing. There was confusion about where the case study fit relative to the other stages. I had been told there wouldn't be live coding, yet the final expectations leaned toward implementation precision and rapid recall that didn't fit the assignment's scope.
I didn't get an offer. My takeaway was that the bar and the evaluation lens felt unstable when they mattered most.
