My interview felt intense from the beginning. I went through four rounds back to back, including one session that lasted around three hours. The questions were difficult. The interviewers were kind, but the pace and scope made it hard to give a complete answer.
One technical round was especially rough. I had to complete both a LeetCode-style medium problem and a system design prompt within the same hour. The time limit was so tight that I could get something working, but it wasn't realistic to produce a polished, optimized solution at that pace. The system design portion felt mismatched for a software engineering role and more suited to another discipline. I had only about half an hour or so to cover it.
There were also inconsistencies in what I was told to expect. I was told that a round would definitely include system design, yet I never actually received that round. It made the process feel disconnected from the expectations that had been set. I didn't get an offer. The feeling that stayed with me was that the difficulty came less from testing fundamentals and more from trying to fit too much into too little time.
