Super Micro Computer Software Engineer Interview Experience: Repository debugging home test

Super Micro Computer·Software Engineer·Reported Jul 2026
Hard

Before the live loop, I had a two-part home test. A HackerRank/LeetCode-style prompt took about 40 minutes, then I debugged a full-stack app repository where one API call did not work as expected. I had to trace the problem and fix it until all tests passed.

It felt more like real engineering than a clean algorithm exercise, with repeated context switching among reading code, reproducing the failure, and iterating toward expected behavior. I was drained by the end because the task was to make the project work, not merely solve a problem. I did not reach an offer, and the debugging task demanded more hands-on focus than I expected.

Location: Jerusalem, Jerusalem. Overall feedback: neutral. Offer status: no offer.
