After clearing the TCS NQT exam, I was shortlisted for interviews at a TCS office. Early questions covered core Java, SQL, and DSA. The route from the exam through shortlisting into technical and HR-style evaluation was clear.
The in-person rounds combined technical work and fit. I introduced myself and connected answers to my resume. They asked why TCS, why they should hire me, my expected package, whether I could work without training, and whether I could relocate. The relocation question surprised me because it was not purely technical. The technical questions were manageable and aligned with my NQT preparation. The interview was easier when the exchange stayed respectful and interactive, and it lasted long enough to cover my projects and a few coding and DSA prompts.
I did not receive an offer, but I left with a clearer view of how strongly the office rounds emphasized fundamentals and fit.
