TSMC Software Engineer Interview Experience: semiconductor fundamentals in a three-person panel

TSMC·Software Engineer·Reported Aug 2026
Hard

I went through a tight panel interview with three employees. After a quick discussion of my background and projects, the conversation turned to semiconductors: what different functions were and how the pieces fit together. They then reviewed my resume in a more direct, detail-oriented way and said they would follow up soon.

It felt focused. They were not only asking generic career questions. There was clear technical curiosity about semiconductor fundamentals, even though the discussion stayed framed around my experience and resume. I left feeling that I had given enough context about my past work, but the semiconductor portion set the tone for the day.

Location: United States. Overall feedback: neutral. Offer status: no offer.
