I went through a thorough, structured interview process with Voleon. It started with an initial interview, followed by two technical interviews, two soft-skill interviews, and a final tech-focused interview. There were a lot of rounds, and I got the sense that they were trying to cover several different areas instead of testing only one skill.
The technical interviews involved Python coding tasks covering algorithmic work, practical data analysis, and model building. One thing that stood out was the expectation that the more involved coding and data-to-model analysis would be completed within the interview. I had to carry the reasoning all the way through to the model and analysis, rather than simply making a strong start.
The soft-skill interviews were fairly standard in content. I was told they were separate interviews, although some of the project and team management topics overlapped. The tone stayed positive throughout, and I was told I was doing great after each stage. Once everything was finished, though, I waited a long time and was eventually declined. The process ended more abruptly and silently than I expected, which left me uncomfortable.
