Software Engineer interview at Systems Planning and Analysis

This process was much heavier than I expected. It began with a recruiter phone call, then an HR phone interview, followed by a video meeting with the manager. Later I attended an in-person meeting with both the manager and HR, and completed an English test. The process took time and offered little clarity between steps. It ended in rejection, communicated through automated-looking emails that did…

Research Scientist interview at Thermo Fisher Scientific

After applying, I had a recruiter screen and then a stage with a group leader and a senior. It felt like a standard research-role check of fit and background before the team-specific work. Soon after, I met virtually with a manager and a line manager at the client site, then moved to an onsite panel with a large group from different sections. That onsite lasted roughly four hours and felt like a…

Software Engineer interview at Thales

A phone conversation led quickly to a one-hour video call. The recruiter mainly checked whether I was still seeking a role and could relocate if necessary. The video call combined motivation questions with technical discussion. It was not a hands-on exercise; it was a conversation about my reasoning and the way I described my background. The difficulty was average for me, neither impossible nor p…

Amazon Software Engineer interview: DSA edge cases and an AI-assisted repository task

I entered a four-round process but did not clear the first round. It included one standard DSA question and one AI-assisted, repo-based coding task. I could produce a DSA solution, but edge cases, debugging, and time ran away from me. The repo task did not go well enough either, and I could feel the momentum slipping during the round. It did not strike me as unfair. I simply did not meet the bar…

Software Engineer interview at Josh Technology Group

The online rounds covered both basics and DSA. The first asked about C/C++ fundamentals and pointers. The second leaned more toward aptitude and DSA, especially trees. The assessment felt medium rather than extremely hard, but it still required solid fundamentals. I also saw material around tree traversal, OOP-style basics, and infix/postfix questions earlier in the process. I was not selected. W…

Software Engineer interview at HCL Tech

This was a short, straightforward interview with about three or four deeper questions about services and APIs. It took place in Hyderabad and felt professional and good in tone. I did not get the offer because I could not answer important parts of the discussion. The questions were not trying to be tricky; they simply required specific knowledge I did not have ready. I kept thinking afterward abo…

Software Engineer interview at Atos

The first conversation covered my background, shift-work availability, and how my experience matched the need. It was direct, with little emphasis on compensation negotiation. The next exchange came the day after I applied through my school job postings and felt more like a conversation than a real technical assessment. Two days later, a manager called to propose the role. The speed made it feel…

Product Manager interview at Capital One

I started with a phone screen, then a Virtual Job Tryout, a mini case around a Capital One product, and finally Power Day. Recruiter communication and the materials made the sequence somewhat predictable, but there were enough checkpoints that mistakes still felt costly. Power Day meant four back-to-back one-hour interviews. I worked through a case tied to a product I had worked on, product round…

Software Engineer interview at Microsoft

The technical screen was tightly focused on algorithms. I had two coding questions: one involved traversing an array to count ball collisions based on speed, and the other asked how to maximize a weighted sum by sorting an array strategically. They tested greedy thinking and careful logic. The problems were described as easy to medium, and I could follow how the scoring and sorting decisions conn…

Consultant interview at Accenture España

Scheduling became frustrating almost immediately. I was arranged through WhatsApp, then left waiting by the assigned recruiter without notice. I later learned that I had effectively been dropped because I could not join an unplanned surprise call. It happened in other forms too: I was invited to an interview where nobody appeared, and follow-up email brought no clear explanation. In one case an A…

Account Executive interview at Abercrombie and Fitch

After I sent my CV and cover letter, I completed a Harver-style recorded-video interview. Each answer allowed only about 30 seconds to prepare and a couple of minutes to speak. Once submitted, I could neither delete nor rewatch it. There were around eight questions and only one take for each. Some were motivational or brand-focused, while others covered how I work, why I wanted the company, and m…

Software Engineer interview at ALTEN Belgium

There were three straightforward rounds: HR first, then the client account manager on the Alten side, followed by a client panel. HR was about general fit. The account-manager conversation covered the projects and what the role would look like day to day. The client panel felt like a final check that I understood the mission and could discuss relevant experience honestly. Nothing in the process s…

Amazon Kuiper Commercial Services Software Engineer interview: edge cases and unfinished assessment questions

The online coding assessment focused on DSA fundamentals and edge cases. I had several coding questions of different difficulty, and the last one was particularly demanding because it had many edge cases. A merely working baseline was not enough. Timing was the problem for me. I could partly solve an earlier DSA question, but the edge cases and debugging absorbed the time I needed to finish and p…

Amazon Kuiper Commercial Services Software Engineer interview: work simulation, technical screen and virtual loop

I spoke with a recruiter and, about a week later, took an online assessment with coding challenges, a work simulation, and behavioral questions about Amazon Leadership Principles. It felt deliberately structured to test both my thinking and how I would operate in a role. Then came technical screening and a multi-round virtual loop. Data structures, algorithms, and system-design basics drove the t…

Amazon DSP Software Engineer interview: debugging pressure during DSA and an AI-assisted repository task

This was a four-round process, but I did not pass the first round. It paired a classic DSA problem with an AI-assisted coding task in a repo-style setup. I could write a DSA solution, then got caught on edge cases without enough time to debug it properly. The repo task also felt like a race against the clock. I tried to adapt, but timing pressure and the need to be precise worked against me. I di…

Amazon DSP Software Engineer interview: four back-to-back conversations with a Bar Raiser

I started with an online assessment containing coding challenges and a work-style simulation tied to Amazon Leadership Principles. After a recruiter-style prelude, I had a full loop of four back-to-back hour-long conversations with engineers, a senior leader, and a Bar Raiser. Different interviewers appeared to be assessing different principles, so behavioral evaluation was part of the whole day.…

Amazon Development Center U.S. Software Engineer interview: a GenAI round within the virtual loop

The process began with an online assessment containing coding challenges and a work simulation. The interviews that followed felt like an Amazon loop, combining technical evaluation with Leadership Principles rather than separating them. The virtual onsite consisted of several back-to-back interviews of about an hour each, including hiring-manager-type and bar-raiser-style discussions. Each inter…

Amazon Development Center U.S. Software Engineer interview: repository coding and interviewer connectivity issues

I had four roughly hour-long panel rounds, with Amazon Leadership Principles woven through technical discussion in each one. I had to connect my answers to impact and decisions instead of treating the behavioral material separately. The first technical round included two DSA questions, one of them repo-based within an existing codebase. I got the core solution underway but ran out of time while w…

Software Engineer interview at Amazon Advertising

This four-round loop was about DSA execution and being thorough with edge cases. Early on, I saw ordinary algorithm questions alongside an AI-assisted, repo-based coding task. I could usually find the central DSA idea, but I did not get all the edge cases right or leave enough time to debug. The later rounds kept the same theme, with coding problems at different levels and behavioral moments mixe…

Anduril Software Engineer interview: drone equations and a demanding onsite

After an HR chat, I had a coding screen that was closer to a simulation than a standard textbook prompt. I had to calculate drone-related equations, so pattern matching was not enough to rush through it. Passing that screen led to an in-person onsite with system design, a cultural or motivational discussion, and two coding challenges. It felt difficult because the formats required both technical…

What are interview experiences?

An interview experience is a candidate's own account of a hiring loop — not a question bank entry. It tells you the shape of the process: how many rounds there were, what each round actually tested, how long the gaps between them ran, and what the recruiter said at the end. That context is the part a question list cannot give you.

How to read them

Weight recent write-ups more heavily — interview loops change, often within a year. Read several for the same company and role rather than one: a single account tells you what one interviewer asked, while five tell you what the bar is. Note the outcome badge too, since a rejection write-up usually explains the gap far more precisely than an offer one.
