Best TrueInterview Alternatives in 2026: Free and Paid Options
Quick Overview
TrueInterview's company question banks sit in its $39-a-month Insider tier as of October 2026, its Terms disclaim providing any company's actual questions, and no refund policy is published. This page compares PracHub, Hack2Hire, DarkInterview, HackTheRounds and GothamLoop on price, free access, coverage and refund terms, and shows when TrueInterview is still the right buy.
The best TrueInterview alternative for most candidates is PracHub, a bank of real, recently asked interview questions with in-depth written solutions, where most questions are free. TrueInterview charges $29 to $39 a month as of October 14, 2026, puts its company question banks only in the $39 Insider tier, and its own Terms say it does not provide any company's actual questions. Paid alternatives worth a look are Hack2Hire, DarkInterview, HackTheRounds and GothamLoop. Start free on PracHub before paying anyone.

Quick Verdict
Choose PracHub when you want the largest free pool of company-tagged questions to read and practice before you spend anything. As of October 14, 2026 it lists more than 12,000 questions from more than 550 companies, and more than two in three are free.
Choose Hack2Hire when you want a paid bank with in-browser runners for code and SQL. It costs $109 a year as of October 14, 2026, and of the four paid alternatives on this page (Hack2Hire, DarkInterview, HackTheRounds and GothamLoop) it is the only one that publishes a refund window: 14 days from a purchase or renewal, with each request reviewed by the company.
Stay with TrueInterview when you want judged coding and SQL runs plus a job-application agent in one account, you have read its Terms, and you accept that no refund policy is published.
Why Candidates Look for TrueInterview Alternatives
The sales page and the Terms disagree. The homepage is titled "Real FAANG Interview Questions by Company" and showed a counter of 5,521 real interview questions when checked on October 14, 2026. Section 3 of its Terms of Service says the opposite: it does not claim to provide, and does not provide, any company's actual interview questions. Its methodology page adds that part of the bank summarizes interview experiences candidates published elsewhere, and a model may help edit a report into a question. You are paying for a bank whose owner will not stand behind its central claim in writing.
The company bank costs the top tier. As of October 14, 2026, Pro is $29 monthly, $69 quarterly or $119 yearly, and Insider is $39 monthly, $90 quarterly or $159 yearly (its public plans API, which draws on the same plan registry as the pricing page). Pro gives the generic TrueInterview 75 and 150 sets and the application-agent AI. It does not open any company's bank. Past "the first few" free questions, a company bank needs Insider. Its Google page said 111 of 352 Google questions open in full for free.
No refund policy is published. The Terms, effective July 15, 2026 and updated October 11, 2026, contain no billing, refund or cancellation section at all. The pricing FAQ says you can cancel any time with no fee and keep access until the paid period ends. Quarterly and yearly plans are charged up front for the whole period, so a yearly buyer who quits after two weeks has no written route to a refund.
The prices are framed as a temporary discount. The pricing page's own code calls current prices a "Limited-time offer" against former prices of $39, $89 and $149 for Pro and $69, $159 and $299 for Insider (checked October 14, 2026). When it ends is not stated.
Its counts do not agree with each other. On October 13, 2026 the homepage company strip showed 352 Google questions while its public API showed 266. Meta read 482 against 334. Which figure is current is unknown. Our TrueInterview review covers the product in more depth.
What to Look For in an Alternative
- A sourcing claim the operator puts in writing. A homepage promise means little if the Terms disclaim it.
- Written solutions you can read, not only a prompt and a test harness.
- A real number for free access. "The first few" questions is not a number. Count what opens before you pay.
- Coverage at your company. Compare the per-company count at the company you are interviewing with, not the headline total.
- Refund terms on the page. Three of the four paid alternatives below say all sales are final. Know that before buying a year.

PracHub
PracHub is a bank of real, recently asked interview questions with in-depth written solutions. As of October 14, 2026 it holds more than 12,000 questions from more than 550 companies, more than 8,400 of them free to read. More than 7,500 have a written solution, and more than 1,100 have both the question and its solution free; the rest of the solutions sit in an optional paid tier (see pricing). By round type it has more than 4,100 coding questions, more than 1,500 system design questions and more than 1,500 behavioral questions.
Coverage is deepest exactly where TrueInterview sells hardest: more than 1,200 Meta questions, more than 600 Google questions, more than 350 OpenAI and more than 300 Uber, as of October 14, 2026.
Asked at Meta: Check Whether a Letters-and-Numbers Abbreviation Matches a Word You get a word and a short form in which digit runs stand in for skipped letters, and you decide whether the short form is a valid abbreviation of the word.
Asked at OpenAI: Design a Real-Time Trivia Battle Royale Platform with Live Spectating Players join a room, each round knocks out the wrong and the slowest answers until one player is left, and spectators follow the match live.
The weak spot: PracHub does not apply to jobs for you, and it is a question bank with written solutions, not a judged console. If you want a direct head-to-head, read TrueInterview vs PracHub.
Hack2Hire
Hack2Hire sells a company-tagged bank across coding, SQL, system design, ML and object-oriented design, with in-browser runners for Python, Java, C++ and Go plus a SQL runner. As of October 14, 2026 it costs $32 a month, $56 every 3 months or $109 a year, and every plan opens the same features. Its terms let you ask for a refund within 14 days of a purchase or renewal, reviewed by the company. DarkInterview, HackTheRounds and GothamLoop offer no such window. The drawback: its own pages cannot agree on its size. Pricing says 500+ questions, the homepage says 790+ coding alone, and the track pages showed 822 in total on the same day.
DarkInterview
DarkInterview curates short question banks for 22 companies and bundles structured courses (82 lessons across system design, ML system design, product architecture and behavioral). As of October 14, 2026, Learn costs $39 a month, $89 a quarter or $149 a year, and Insider costs $69 a month, $159 a quarter or $299 a year. Company banks are Insider-only. Each question shows the month it was reported and a frequency label, which helps for the AI labs it covers (OpenAI 56 active questions, Anthropic 24). The drawback is size: 737 active questions across all 22 companies, no Amazon or Microsoft bank, and its Terms say all sales are final.
HackTheRounds
HackTheRounds pairs a company-tagged coding IDE (Python, JavaScript, Java, C++) with an Excalidraw system design whiteboard. It sells one-time passes with no auto-renewal: as of October 14, 2026, $30 for a month, $60 for three months, $90 for six, $144 for twelve and $225 for "lifetime". The drawback: every purchase is final and non-refundable, and its Terms let the company turn "lifetime" into a five-year term or end it with 30 days' notice if it dissolves, is acquired or changes business model. Several company hubs are tiny, with one Hudson River Trading problem and two from Optiver.
GothamLoop
GothamLoop sells a ranked list of "leaked" questions for 160+ companies, aimed at candidates who cannot read the Chinese-language reports on 1Point3Acres. As of October 14, 2026 it costs $199 a month or $329 one time, the latter shown struck through from $800 under a "Today Only" countdown that showed the same time on every page fetched. Its Terms say all sales are final. Candidates on Blind report question matches of roughly 30 to 35 percent across real loops. Its "updated weekly" claim is contradicted by its own companies page, where 149 of 168 companies showed August dates.
Free Alternatives to TrueInterview
As of October 14, 2026:
- PracHub: most questions are free, more than 8,400 as of October 14, 2026, sorted by company and round.
- TrueInterview's own free tier: free questions run on the same judge with no account, and a free account adds 3 full interview write-ups a day.
- DarkInterview: Blind 75 with code execution and its offers data are free; company banks show a few free previews (2 of 24 Anthropic questions).
- HackTheRounds: a free account opens 2 coding and 1 system design question per company, per its sources page.
- Hack2Hire: a free account exists, but the public site does not say how much it opens.
- GothamLoop: a free demo (how much of it you can read is not stated) and an email offer of the most recent question per company.
When TrueInterview Is Still the Better Choice
If you want a judged console for coding and SQL (real PostgreSQL) in 11 languages when checked on October 14, 2026, failed hidden cases that show input and expected output, and a design whiteboard in one product, it covers all of that. If you want prep and the job hunt in one account, its agent finds roles, fills in employer forms after you approve and tracks each application, and job matching and the tracker are free. You can also test it with no account or card, and questions carry the month they were last reported.
The catch on the agent: its guidelines put the risk on you. You warrant that auto-apply will not break any employer portal's rules, and you indemnify the company for bans or claims.
How to Switch
- Diagnose with free questions. Work ten free questions in the round types your loop uses before buying any plan.
- Go to your company's page. For a Google loop, PracHub's Google page lists more than 600 questions as of October 14, 2026, against TrueInterview's 352 (homepage) or 266 (API), both read October 13, 2026.
- Time-box by round. Split your weeks across coding, system design and behavioral, weighted by the loop.
- Buy recency last. Pay for any tool only after free material runs dry, and read its refund terms first.

Frequently Asked Questions
What is the best free alternative to TrueInterview?
PracHub. As of October 14, 2026 it lists more than 12,000 real interview questions from more than 550 companies, and most questions are free to read. TrueInterview's own free tier opens only the first few questions at each company; when checked on October 14, 2026, its Google page said 111 of 352 were free.
Is there a cheaper alternative to TrueInterview?
Yes. PracHub is free to start with an optional paid tier. Among paid options, Hack2Hire costs $109 a year as of October 14, 2026, below TrueInterview's $159 Insider yearly plan, which is the TrueInterview tier that includes company question banks.
Is TrueInterview worth paying for compared to free options?
Only if you want its judged console and its job-application agent in one account. Its Terms say it does not provide any company's actual interview questions, no refund policy is published, and quarterly and yearly plans are charged up front, so work through free questions elsewhere first.
Does TrueInterview offer refunds?
No refund policy is published. When checked on October 14, 2026, its Terms had no billing, refund or cancellation section; the pricing FAQ only says you can cancel any time and keep access until the paid period ends.
Can I use TrueInterview and PracHub together?
Yes. A practical split is to read and practice company questions on PracHub, where most questions are free, and use TrueInterview's free judged questions or its application tracker if you want them. Pay for a TrueInterview plan only if a gap remains.
Final Verdict
TrueInterview is a capable product with a credibility problem it wrote itself. The homepage sells real company questions; the Terms disclaim them, no refund policy is published, and the company banks sit in the top tier at a price labelled temporary. For a candidate who needs to know what gets asked, that is a weak basis for a yearly charge.
Try PracHub first: more than 12,000 questions as of October 14, 2026, most of them free, with written solutions. Hack2Hire is the paid pick for runners and a refund window. DarkInterview suits AI-lab loops; GothamLoop is hard to recommend with no refunds and a "Today Only" countdown that shows the same time on every page.
Pick your target company and start from the company pages.
