Exponent Pricing (2026): Plans, Free Access, and What You Actually Get

October 14, 2026
13 min read

Quick Overview

Exponent, now rebranded as Aced, has a free Basic tier plus Pro ($79 a month or $149 a year) and Expert ($99 a month or $249 a year) plans as of October 2026. This page breaks down what each plan includes, the 5-day refund window and auto-renewal terms, and why annual beats monthly after two months. It also covers cheaper ways to practice real, recently asked interview questions.

Free

Partly. Exponent now trades as Aced (tryexponent.com redirects to aced.io), and as of October 14, 2026 its own catalog lists a $0 Basic tier, Pro at $79 a month or $149 a year, and Expert at $99 a month or $249 a year, with 1:1 coaching sold separately at $249 a session. Basic gives you sample lessons, 5 peer mocks a month and a limited question database, with no solutions. If what you need is real questions with written answers, start with PracHub's free question bank.

Pricing and product details were checked on October 14, 2026.

Quick Verdict

Choose Exponent Pro on the annual plan when you are preparing for a PM, EM, TPM or other non-SWE loop over two months or more and want structured video courses plus scheduled peer mocks. At $149 a year (as of October 2026) it costs less than two months of the $79 monthly plan, so the monthly plan only makes sense for a single month of prep.

Choose PracHub when you mainly need a large set of real, recently asked questions with in-depth written solutions and would rather start without paying. Most questions are free, and PracHub is free to start with an optional paid tier; current terms are on the pricing page.

The real decision is monthly against annual. Twelve months of Pro on the monthly plan is $948; the annual plan is $149, and two months of monthly Pro ($158) already costs more. Expert annual ($249) breaks even during the third month of monthly Expert. So buy monthly only if you are certain the prep fits in one month, and buy annual for anything longer. The gap between Pro and Expert is $20 a month or $100 a year, and the only thing it buys is the AI suite.

Coaching packs cut the per-session price from $249 to $225 (3-pack) and about $200 (5-pack), a discount you lose if you refund unused sessions.

What You Get for Free

The Basic tier needs no credit card. As of October 2026 it includes:

  • Sample lessons only. Every course has some free lessons, but no full course.
  • 5 peer mock interviews a month. This is the most useful free piece. Peer mocks are scheduled across PM, DSA, system design, behavioral, SQL, data science and ML, frontend and investment banking; the site does not say whether Basic users can book every track.
  • Limited access to the question database. The full bank lists 5,386 questions as of October 14, 2026, and Aced says it is built from user contributions.
  • Basic job referrals.

What Basic does not include: video and written solutions, company guides, interview experiences, the Discord community and every AI feature. In practice the free tier shows you some questions and the format, then stops at the answers.

Two unknowns matter here. Aced does not say how many of the 5,386 questions have an expert answer rather than a user-written one, or how many have video; its homepage claims more than 100 expert video answers. And because the bank is user-contributed while its Terms disclaim any guarantee about the accuracy of user content such as interview reviews and postings, treat it as crowd-sourced material, not a checked dataset.

Hidden Costs and Billing Terms

All of these were read on Aced's support page, Terms and upgrade page on October 14, 2026.

  • Auto-renewal. Memberships renew until you cancel from your account page before the renewal date.
  • A 5-day refund window. The support FAQ offers full refunds within 5 days of purchase and describes no refund after that. It does not say whether the same window applies to annual plans and Expert; it refers to membership in general.
  • AI costs extra. AI mock interviews, AI feedback and the AI coach are Expert-only. The $79 Pro plan does not include them.
  • Coaching does not include membership. A $249 session is separate from Pro. A missed session, or a cancel or reschedule within 24 hours, counts as used. Unused sessions are refundable within six months, but a refund on a multi-session pack excludes the pack discount, so the sessions you did use get repriced at the full rate.
  • Account deletion. You must cancel auto-renewing subscriptions first, and deleting the account forfeits coaching credits.
  • Terms that favor the seller. The Terms impose binding arbitration and waive class-action and jury-trial rights. Aced can change them at any time, and continued use counts as acceptance.
  • Limited support hours. Support runs Monday to Thursday, 8 AM to 8 PM Pacific, with replies within 2 business days, and it does not answer career questions.

Exponent is not "all sales final", but a 5-day window is short for a product you judge over weeks.

Is Exponent Worth the Price?

It is worth it if you are preparing for a non-SWE role where structured frameworks are hard to find, you will use the peer mocks every week, and you buy the annual plan. At $149 for a year of courses and unlimited mocks, the per-month cost is low, and the course catalog covers tracks that are hard to find structured courses for: EM, TPM, product design, solutions architect, BizOps and investment banking.

It is not worth it on the monthly plan for long prep, or as your main source of answers. The third-party complaints are old but consistent. A Blind commenter in late 2020 said paying opened up only about 40% new videos, in the same format as the free ones; Blind commenters in September 2021 said it adds very few videos beyond its free YouTube channel; and a PM on the roughly $150-a-year plan in April 2022 found its answers "lacking and low level" and recommended human coaching instead. Those threads predate the AI features and the rebrand, so weigh them as history. For the full product teardown, read our Exponent review.

When Exponent Wins

  • Non-SWE tracks. PM, EM, TPM, product design, data science, solutions architect and investment banking candidates get structured video courses that are scarce elsewhere.
  • Live practice partners. Scheduled peer mocks run every week per track, plus an AI interviewer on Expert. If you need someone to practice with rather than a question list, this is the core of the product.
  • One vendor for everything. Courses, coaching, resume review and negotiation in one account, if you are willing to spend $249 or more per coaching session.
  • Long, multi-role prep. $149 for a year is cheap if you prepare for several role types over many months.
  • Community and referrals. The members-only Discord and the job-referral marketplace come with Pro.

Cheaper Ways to Get the Same Outcome

Knowing what a company asks, and how to answer it, does not need a course membership. As of October 2026, PracHub lists more than 12,000 real, recently asked questions from more than 550 companies, and more than 8,000 of them, over two thirds, are free to read. More than 7,000 have an in-depth written solution, though only a little more than 1,100 pair a free question with a free solution.

Be clear about coverage. As of October 2026, PracHub has real depth where Exponent's buyers also interview: more than 1,500 behavioral and leadership questions and more than 900 analytics and experimentation questions. Its product decision-making set is small, a little more than 80 questions, so a PM candidate will still want frameworks from somewhere. Here is what the free questions look like:

Asked at Meta: Prioritize voice-to-text or assistant? For an accessibility-focused VR product with room to ship one feature, you pick between voice-to-text and a voice assistant, and defend the framework and the evidence that would flip your call.

Asked at Amazon: Make decisions with limited data A senior TPM prompt that tests whether you can move fast without much data, separating reversible decisions from one-way doors while still showing customer focus.

Asked at Glean: Product Case: Define Success Metrics for a Product, Using Enterprise Search as Example A hiring-manager product case for a data scientist: define how you would measure success for an enterprise search tool that employees use to find documents, people and answers.

A cheaper workflow that keeps the parts of Exponent worth paying for:

  1. Spend the first week on free tiers only: Exponent Basic for sample lessons and its 5 peer mocks, PracHub for real questions.
  2. Pull the questions your target company actually asked. As of October 2026 the Meta question hub has more than 1,200, Amazon more than 850 and Google more than 600.
  3. Write your own answer to each question first, then compare it with the written solution where you have access to one.
  4. Buy Exponent annual only if you are still using its peer mocks or course frameworks after that week, and skip Expert unless you will run AI mocks several times a week.
  5. Buy a single coaching session only for the final week, when you know which round worries you.

Practice these on PracHub

These free questions match what Exponent's PM, TPM and data science buyers face, grouped by the round they belong to.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is Exponent free?

Partly. As of October 2026, Exponent (now Aced) has a $0 Basic tier that needs no credit card: sample lessons, 5 peer mock interviews a month, limited access to its question database and basic job referrals. Solutions, company guides, interview experiences, the Discord community and every AI feature require a paid plan.

How much does Exponent cost in 2026?

As of October 14, 2026, Pro costs $79 a month or $149 a year, and Expert, which adds AI mock interviews and AI feedback, costs $99 a month or $249 a year. One-hour coaching is $249 a session, $675 for 3 or $999 for 5, and does not include a membership. Annual Pro costs less than two months of monthly Pro.

Does Exponent offer refunds?

Its support FAQ offers full membership refunds within 5 days of purchase and describes none after that, as of October 2026. Memberships auto-renew until you cancel before the renewal date. Unused coaching sessions are refundable within six months, but refunds on a multi-session pack exclude the pack discount.

Are there Exponent discount or promo codes?

None were verified. Some affiliate blogs advertise a discounted Exponent annual deal, but Aced's own catalog showed no discounted price and no active offer when checked on October 14, 2026. The main built-in saving on membership is the annual plan, which costs less than two months of the monthly plan.

Is Exponent the same as Aced?

Yes. Exponent rebranded to Aced: tryexponent.com redirects to aced.io, and the site footer still names Exponent Labs, LLC. The site does not say when the rebrand happened.

What is a free alternative to Exponent?

For real interview questions with written solutions, PracHub is free to start with an optional paid tier, and most of its more than 12,000 questions are free to read as of October 2026. It does not replace Exponent's video courses or peer mocks, so pair it with Exponent's free Basic tier if you want practice partners.

Final Verdict

Exponent's pricing only holds up on the annual plan. At $149 for a year (as of October 2026) you get every course and unlimited peer mocks for less than two months of the $79 monthly plan. Monthly Pro is poor value past the first month, and Expert's extra $100 a year buys nothing but the AI features.

The billing terms are the catch: a 5-day refund window, auto-renewal, binding arbitration and Terms that can change at any time. Use Basic and its 5 free peer mocks for a full week before you pay, and set a reminder for the renewal date the day you do.

If what you need is the questions companies actually asked, with in-depth written answers, most of that does not require a subscription. Start with PracHub's free interview questions.
