The recruiter call went fine at first and the process seemed to be moving. It stopped immediately after I shared my salary expectations. The recruiter did not negotiate or explore a range. It felt as though the compensation gap alone ruled me out.
Given my background in new technology, the figure they had in mind was less than half of what I had been offered in parallel processes. That made the decision feel unrealistic from my perspective.
I did not receive an offer. The experience felt abrupt rather than like a considered decision.
