Accenture España Software Engineer interview experience: a mismatched final assessment

The process started normally. The technical interview covered core JavaScript and React, including hooks, reconciliation, HOCs, performance patterns, and some architecture discussion. Then I had a managerial-style round about past projects and how I would fit on a team.

After clearing both interviews, I received an online assessment covering React, React Native, and Angular. The role was clearly React-focused, so I was not ready for the other stacks. Submitting also felt risky. Once I finished the section that seemed relevant, the platform warned that I was about to submit without completing the remaining sections. I confirmed because I expected the evaluation to follow what I had actually completed.

The rejection email arrived almost immediately after I submitted. It was fast enough that I suspected the system had ignored the partial completion. Follow-up communication was minimal. The interview rounds had been professional and reasonable, but the final assessment seemed disconnected from the role and changed my view of the whole process.

Location: Pune. Overall feedback: negative. Offer status: no offer.
