The interview felt more like a sales pitch than a structured evaluation. The company spent a lot of time on its own story and differences, while I had little room to explore my experience. There were personal questions about my life and connections, and I felt they were trying to work out who I knew.
The conversation kept returning to my network and the people I could contact. Even standard interview questions seemed aimed at identifying prospects I might generate. It was very light on technical material and felt more like preparation for consultations and outreach than a skills assessment.
I came away thinking they had mostly explained what I would do instead of probing my fit deeply. That put me off, and I did not move forward.
