After a simple start, I had a friendly video or in store conversation with a store manager. It was relaxed, and I had time to ask questions, but it was still structured enough that I understood what they wanted. We discussed the role, the day to day work, why I wanted the position, and why I was leaving my current job. The manager also asked how I would handle an upset customer or help someone choose shoes for a special event. I drew on times I had gone above and beyond for customers and worked well with a team.

The process was quick and low pressure. Depending on the location, it was either a call under 30 minutes or an in person conversation of about an hour. I also walked through the store. We kept returning to customer focus, staying calm in a fast paced environment, and how my retail experience and interest in fashion suited the role.

I left confident because the questions were straightforward and the manager was welcoming. I was offered the job. What surprised me was how quickly it moved without becoming complicated. It was one of the easier retail interviews I had.

Location: Toronto, ON. Overall feedback: positive. Offer status: got offer.
