ACI Worldwide Software Engineer Interview Experience: OOP, DBMS, and motivation

ACI Worldwide·Software Engineer·Reported Aug 2026
Medium

I began with an introduction conversation about what the company does and what the role involves. It felt more like a fit check than an interrogation because they asked about my interests and details from my personal background.

The next step was a technical round on fundamentals. I was asked theory about OOP and DBMS, implementation questions about interfaces, and some data-structures topics. The difficulty was manageable. It seemed intended to test whether I understood the concepts rather than whether I knew obscure tricks.

The final part focused on management and the company. They asked why I wanted ACI Worldwide instead of other options, so the discussion came back to my decision-making and motivation. I did not get an offer, but the process felt fair and straightforward.

Location: Cape Town. Overall feedback: neutral. Offer status: no offer.
