I completed two online assessments, then waited a long time for a phone interview. We spent less than half an hour discussing my research before moving to two coding questions.
The first asked for gradient descent and brought detailed follow-ups about Adam's formula and algorithm, which surprised me. The second involved a biased coin and a probability calculation over ten trials. I first described an exhaustive approach, then implemented a dynamic program when asked to code.
I accidentally left two lines outside a loop, and time ran out. I noticed the error immediately after the interview and corrected it while the interviewer was still in HackerRank. I had felt the conversation went well, but thought the late fix had not helped.
