After a recruiter-style step, I was routed into a tightly scheduled online assessment sequence. One Canditech portion was harder and had multiple questions where I was expected to explain my thinking and math as I went. The other portion was supposed to be a HackerRank test immediately afterward, but I never received access despite reaching out multiple times.
I did complete Canditech. It had several questions and, although the topics were not spelled out, it clearly involved the probability and math reasoning expected of a quant researcher. The difficulty fit the role: serious rather than casual, but not trick questions. I felt the coding side was not a blocker once I could try it, but the missing HackerRank component disrupted the process.
I did not move forward. The experience ended on a sour note because the scheduling and communication felt incomplete, even though the technical work I did felt within the stated difficulty.
