I went through a multi-round process that ended with an in-office final step. Before that, the early stages felt like a series of online hurdles that filtered people quickly. Once I reached the last round, the environment felt supportive. Everyone I met in person was nice and made it easier to focus.
Probability and math came up repeatedly on the technical side. In the later stages, I was asked more direct probability questions that connected to classic quant "greenbook"-type reasoning. Earlier rounds also included coding, but by the time I was sitting across from people in the final stage, the focus had clearly narrowed to quantitative reasoning.
I didn't get the job, even though I genuinely enjoyed the process once I reached the office. Looking back, the difficulty wasn't what bothered me most. It was the feeling that the earlier screening stages could be blunt and time-consuming compared with how humane the final conversations felt.
