I expected a more hands-on process, but the first interview stayed fairly high level. I was invited to the office, where most of the panel was in the room even though one interviewer joined remotely. We spent most of the time on my past experience, how I had handled problems on earlier projects, and how I explained my reasoning. There was no coding exercise or deep implementation discussion.
A later interview was much more technical. I worked through two substantial LeetCode-style questions, explained my thinking as I went, solved them in about forty minutes, and did a dry run of the logic before writing code. That part felt constructive.
The process still had a sharper side. One interviewer questioned whether I had really worked on distributed systems because I took a little longer to answer.
